"In D.A.R.E., We Learn to Beware!"

By Andrea Miller

Officer Bomgardner came to teach us about D.A.R.E.,
He said, "Alcohol and Drugs he wants us to be aware!"

With games and fun and writing too,
We found out what nasty drugs do to you.

We learned drug names and what they do,
About peer pressures and ways to say no too.

With drugs there is no fun to gain,
Alcohol, Marijuana, cigarettes, and cocaine.

Drugs can destroy the body in which you rely,
Organs work harder, get cancer, or you can even die!

Your social life is gone and your good grades too,
No one wants to smell your breath, and your brain won't think for you!

There are some kids that say they're your friends, but you find differently,
They pressure you to do what's wrong with teasing or being over friendly.

Don't let them get the best of you, there are ways to say"NO!"
Just turn around and say no thanks, avoid or just GO!

You don't want to turn you life up-side down,
Drugs can make it difficult all the way around.

Your self-esteem is like a bubble, but sometimes it can be in trouble,
Pick yourself up and let yourself know you are wonderful, on the double.

Don't be the few that waste your life and lose out on all the fun,
Be one of the ones that don't do drugs, enjoy life, get out there, and run!
