What's Cooking ?

I LIKE TO COOK!
Yes that's right, give me a recipe, a spoon and a few goodies from the local grocery store and look out when the dinner bell rings! In class I have been exchanging recipes with some of my students that also like to hang out in the kitchen and create masterpieces that tingle the taste buds. So for any students out there in cyberland that have a mouth watering delight to post, send it to me and I'll see that it gets added.


The "Hoover" Style Cheese Bagel

-Ingredients-
Your Favorite Bagel
Your Favorite Cheese
(Doritos-optional)

Cut bagel in half and sprinkle cheese on it.
Place in 400 degree oven till cheese melts or microwave for faster results.
For extra crunch
sprinkle crushed Doritos on bagel before adding cheese.

The "Elszy" Sunnyside Egg Sandwich

-Ingredients-
Butter
Bread
One Egg

Spread butter on one side of the bread. Place buttered side down in frying pan.
Crack egg in middle of bread and fry. Do not turn over. Salt and pepper to taste.

Pineapple Sherbert
Cherry 7up
20 Cherries
Whip Cream
Ice

Punch Bowl

First you put 1/2 of a box of sherbert in punch bowl, add cherries,
then slowly add Cherry 7up to the mixture. Mix with spoon, pour into glass

The Lisa Ann Pork Chops
"Seidel Style"

4 pork chops prepared for stuffing
1 apple chopped medium fine
1/4 cup sliced alomnds
1/2 cup toasted bread crumbs
1/4 cup sweet cooking sherry
Preheat oven to 375

Mix apple, almonds, bread crumbs, and sherry in a bowl
stuff pork chops with mix cover cook for 30 min, uncover and continue to cook for 20min.
this is an easy recipe that tastes great


The Victoria 10 Step Sandwich
INGREDENTS:
2 slices of white bread
1 jar of peanut butter
Sugar
2 whole bananas

Directions:
Step 1: Lay a piece of bread on a plate
Step 2: Smother it with peanut butter
Step 3: Put six slices of banana on top peanut butter
Step 4: Sprinkle small amount of sugar on layer of bananas
Step 5: Add another layer of peanut butter on top bananas and sugar
Step 6: Put six more banana slices on layer of peanut butter
Step 7: Sprinkle a little more sugar on top of bananas
Step 8: Smother again peanut butter over bananas and sugar layer
Step 9: Put second slice of bread on top
Step 10: Eat and Enjoy!


THE Roddie Omelet
4 eggs
1/2 onion - diced
1/2 cup ham - diced
5 pinches of pepper
6 pinches of salt
2 pinches of garlic powder

Directions: Mix all ingredents in mixing bowl and mix. Pour mixture into frying pan at low heat. Once cooked, 4 to 6 minutes, fold in half and put on serving plate. Garnish with your favorite cheese and parsley. COME AND GET IT!


THE ARROYO 2 TIMER SANDWICH
SECRET INGREDENTS:
2 SLICES BREAD
2 TEASPOONS DIJON MUSTURD
2 SHAKES OF SALT AND PEPPER
2 LEAVES LETTUCE
2 TEASPOONS ITALAIN DRESSING
2 SPREADS OF MAYONASE
2 PIECES OF TURKEY

Directions: 1ST YOU TAKE THE BREAD AND YOU SPREAD THE MUSTURD ON THE RIGHT PIECE AND YOU TAKE THE MAYO AND SPREAD IT ON THE LEFT PIECE.THEN YOU TAKE THE TURKEY AND PUT IT ON THE RIGHT PIECE.THEN YOU PUT THE LETTUCE ON THE RIGHT PIECE.THEN YOU SHAKE SOME SALT AND PEPPER ON THE LEFT PIECE. CLOSE YOUR SANDWICH AND INJOY!!


Maria's Butter-N-Chocolate Blossom-Perez Style
Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cup mini chocolate chip pieces

Directions: Preheat oven to 375°, Beat shortening and peanut butter until well blended, add sugars beating until light and fluffly, add egg, milk, vanilla, beat well. Stir in flour baking soda and salt. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. After removing from oven take chocolate chip pieces and press immediately into top of cookie. Makes a whole bunch of cookies !


Tamara's Fast Cheese Toast
Ingredients:
Sliced Bread
Butter or Margarin
Your Favorite Cheese - Grated

Directions: Spread butter/margarin on bread.
Sprinkle cheese over top of bread.
Put in microwave till cheese bubbles, Enjoy!


Snow Hobo - Meal In One
Ingredients:
¼ lb of ground beef
1 carrot
1 med. potato
1 small onion

Preparation: Make hamburger pattie. Put pattie on aluminum foil. Slice carrot, potato and onion and put on top of hamburger. Fold over foil. Cook in oven at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. (bell pepper may also be added)


Patricia's Grand French Toast
For one serving - 2 French Toast
2 eggs
¼ cup milk
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon butter

Mix well and dip bread into mixture. Fry until golden brown and eat away!


Sheila's Bean Dip
1 can of refried beans
½ cup sour cream
¼ cup hot salsa
2 cups shredded lettuce
½ cup of cheese (optional)

Directions: Heat up the beans for 2 minutes in the microwave. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Grab your favorite chips and enjoy !


Lisa B's Meat Loaf
1 pound of ground beef
1 slice of bread
1 egg
2 tablespoons of water
¼ cup ketchup
¼ cup red or white onion
¼ cup bell pepper (red or green)
Mix together and put in glass pan and set in microwave for 27 minutes at medium power. Turn after 18 minutes. Makes about 6 to 8 servings.


Delia's Pansett
Cut chicken, beef, or shrimp into bite size pieces. Add small amount of oil to meat and lightly brown. Add fresh chopped vegetables with soy sauce. Sprinkle a tablespoon of flour over mixture. Add accent,salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well while cooking. Add white cooked noodles to mixture and mix gently. Pour on serving plate and add a light mist of lemon juice to top.
A complete meal in itself!


Erika's Bundt Cake
1¼ cups of butter
2¼ cups of sugar
2½ cups of flour
2½ tsp. vanilla or lemon extract
7 eggs

Cream butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the lemon or vanilla extract. Combine mixture with flour and beat well. Pour batter into well greased and floured bundt pan. Bake at 325° for one hour or until top of cake springs back when lightly touched with fork or toothpick. Cool in pan for 15 minutes before removing.
Variations - Add pecans


Melissa's Mint Folay Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
3 scoops of mint ice cream
1 tablespoon of chocolate chips
½ cup of milk
½ of a bannana
1 pinch of sugar
Mix together and re-freeze till firm. Then Serve!


Sherre' M's Porkchops with Potatoes and Gravy
4 boneless porkchops
4 whole potatoes - peeled and sliced
1/2 white onion - sliced up
salt and pepper to taste

In a deep skillet brown porkchops. After browning, remove from heat and add onions, potatoes and salt/pepper to taste. Fill with water until porkchops, potatoes and onions are covered. Cover skillet with lid and cook on medium for 45 minutes to 1 hour. After porkchops are done cooking, add flour and water together and add to porkchops to make gravy. Once gravy forms...Dinner is Served!


Jessica's Stuffed Bells
6 Bellpeppers
2 lbs of ground beef
1 small box minute rice
1 can tomato soup
salt and pepper to taste

Mix ground beef and rice together in a bowl and set aside. Cut tops off bellpeppers and clean out inside of pepper. Stuff peppers with ground beef/rice mixture to a little over half way full. In large dutchoven prepare soup with milk as the liquid and mix well. Set bellpeppers in dutchoven in soup mix. Cover and bring to a boil. Turn temperature to medium and cook for approximately 1 hour. After peppers are done place on plate and spoon thickened soup over peppers. Almost a meal in itself!


Grandma Chandlers Double Banana Bread
Here is a recipe for Double Banana Bread:

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. each of salt and baking soda
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. mashed very ripe bananas
1/4 c. each of Oil and water
1/2 c. Post Banana Nut Crunch Cereal
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Heat oven to 350 degrees

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. Beat eggs; stir in bananas, oil, and water. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Stir in cereal. Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake 55 - 60 degrees or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; Remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.
Makes 18 (1/2 inch thick) slices.


The Joey Supreme
"A Real Summer Treat"
Ingredients:
1/2 cup mint flavored jelly
1/4 cup water
1 large pineapple chopped
1 cup chilled whipping cream
Chopped macadamia nuts or toasted slivered blanched almonds
Mix together with spoon and put in freezer 30 minutes or until mixture firms up.
Remove and let stand for 5 minutes. Serve immediately and enjoy. Makes 4 servings.


OLA BRUMMETT CHEESEBURGER
"I just love down home cooking"
You start with 1/2 pound of hamburger and add the follow: 2 pinches of salt, 3 pinches of pepper, 3 pinches of garlic. Mix well and then patty into individual servings. BBQ till cooked and then add two slices of your favorite cheese on top. Let the cheese melt and take off BBQ and serve. GOOD STUFF!


SUZANNE'S BUTTERFINGER DELIGHT
"A perfect end to any meal"
1/2 Gallon of Vanilla or Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
3 King Size Butterfinger Candy Bars
1 Oreo Cookie Pie Crust (ready made)
Let ice cream stand till soft and then mix 2 crushed butterfingers into the ice cream. Pour mixture into pie crust and top with the last butterfinger crushed. Set the pie back into the freezer for a few hours until it is firm again. After the mixture has hardened, it's ready to serve!
