Rocketry

After years of building model cars and planes that only collected dust I decided to enter into something a little different. I came across an Estes® rocket kit stand at one of the local stores and thought I'd give it a try. I saw several models but the triple stager caught my eye. After carefully constructing the rocket, making sure everything was to specifications and giving the rocket a fantastic paint job I went to a field and set up the launch pad. Once on the launch pad I couldn't wait to start the count down. After getting a safe distance away I set its fate in motion ... 5-4-3-2-1 BLAST OFF!, and boy did it. All three stages fired just like the construction manual said they would. I never saw that rocket again. It went so high I lost sight of rocket and did not see the re-entry. I now build rockets that stay a little closer to the ground. I have a blast making them and these models don't collect dust.
